Utah Point Bulk Handling Facility
Scope
Mains Power Connection Project, Supply and install 22kv RMU and 22/6.6kv Transformer and all associated cables and equipment. Inclusive of all civil works including trenching, coordination of directional drilling works and transformer compound bund construction.
Protection System wiring, Protection testing and commissioning, all High Voltage testing and commissioning coordinated and completed by HV WA.
HV WA were engaged by Atlas Iron to upgrade its material handling facility located at Utah Point, Port Hedland from temporary gensets to mains power. The works included vendor engagement for design and supply of RMU and transformer equipment, conduit installation and cable pit installation, and the installation, construction and commissioning of all equipment and cable infrastructure. Engaged on a D&C contract, HV WA successfully delivered the upgrade to budget. In addition, HV WA demonstrated commitment and flexibility by taking on additional work outside of their original scope. Considering the success achieved, HV WA have been recommended to be included on future tender lists within the business.
